Bucket List: England (& 8-Day London Itinerary)

I was a busy little bee while in England. I marked a whopping 28 things off my bucket list! People keep asking for my London itinerary…so here it is! (Links take you to the exact tour/ticket landing page.)

Day 1 (Arrived late afternoon)

7:30 pm: West End show: Kinky Boots


Day 2

8:00 am: Windsor Castle Tour


1:00 pm: Fish & chips lunch was included after Windsor Castle at St. George’s Tavern (a traditional British pub)


2:30 pm: A quick shopping break at Harrod’s

4:30 pm: Afternoon tea at Claridge’s

7:00 pm: Sherlock Holmes Murder Mystery dinner…can’t say I recommend it…(I left early)


Day 3

10:00 am: Full English breakfast at Ffiona’s Restaurant


…including black pudding

11:00 am: Kensington Palace & the gardens



2:00 pm: Historical pub walking tour (and took a picture by a red telephone box)

Day 4 

9:00 am: Westminister Abbey & Inside the Houses of Parliament Tour


(perfect Big Ben photo op when you leave the Parliament)


2:30 pm: British Museum

Don’t miss the Elgin Marbles


The Rosetta Stone


Assyrian Lion Hunt reliefs

Day 5

9:00 am: Tower of London (I know, I know this is Tower Bridge)


11:30 am: London Eye (don’t go when it is raining…I could barely see out!)


12:30 pm: Lunch at Swan (attached to Shakespeare’s Globe)

2:00 pm: Taming of the Shrew at Shakespeare’s Globe


7:30 pm: Jack The Ripper tour (Amazing! Surprisingly funny and informative!)


Day 6

Missed the 9:00 am train to Bath


11:30 am: Jane Austen Centre


12:00 pm: Jane Austen tea room

1:30 pm Roman Baths


4:00 pm: Bus tour of the city 

6:00 pm: Dinner at The Pump Room (lovely live piano)


7:45 pm: Train to London

Day 7

7:30 am: Oxford, Cotswalds, Stratford-Upon-Avon tour



Day 8

7:30 am: Stonehenge, Glastonbury, and Avebury tour

I left for Scotland the next day but was able to go back to England on a day trip tour from Edinburgh to knock off Hadrian’s Wall and the England/Scotland border

P.S. I know that Buckingham Palace is missing from the itinerary but I had already visited on a previous visit.
